The Serbian Museum of Bread – Jeremija was founded in 1995. It is situated 40 km from Belgrade in the Srem village Pećinci. The Museum is the result of numerous years of research and meticulous gathering of various object carried out by the painter Jeremija, who has for the last three decades been studying the subject of euchologion bread. Basic display concept wants to present the way, wheat grain travels from „earth over bread to the heaven“, corresponding to the cycles of Jeremija s paintings „cycle of earth, bread and heaven“. Exhibits were distributed into three thematic collection: etnographic, arheological and art.
The Museum also includes the reconstruction of a bread-baking oven, a hearth, a church dedicated to bread. The Museum complex has a resting area, souvenir shop and a large museum parking.
